Choosing colors is often a daunting task, lets face it, picking colors is an emotional experience and we’re here to help you through that process if you’d like some assistance. After you hire us we’ll provide you with a few color samples and help you pull the colors together so your home flows from one room to another. We’re always up on current color trends and have a great eye for color. Once paint colors have been selected we’d be happy to also advise you to the kind of paint and paint finishes best to use—flat, satin, semi-gloss or gloss—relative to the areas and surfaces being painted.
Then we’ll order and pick up the paint from Sherwin-Williams so you don’t have to. We receive tremendous discounts from Sherwin-Williams and are happy to pass those discounts on to you. In the end, you get the finest paints available at the lowest prices available—ensuring years of durability, walls that are easy to clean, an overall great look, and all at a great price.
Before we begin painting a room, we properly prepare it. We will leave hooks or nails if you plan on re-hanging pictures, and such where they were, so you don’t have to re-center them, or we can pull them and fill the holes. We remove the light switches and plug plates. And we move furniture to the center of the room and cover it with plastic. Then we lay drop cloths down over the floors. We ask that you are responsible for pictures, antiques, and breakables. If you need help with these items, will be more than happy to help you.
We being by patching any nail holes, dents, cracks, or crevices; we will spot prime stains with Sherwin Williams Pro Block prior to painting. Gaps between trim and walls or between walls and ceiling are all caulked. We sand trim and doors where needed and then wipe clean to ensure smooth finishes.
After preparation of walls and trim, we begin painting by cutting in between the ceiling and walls, and then around the walls and trim, working our way down from top to bottom. This is done by experienced craftsman painters with a steady hand, who pay close attention to details and ensure precision paint lines, with no overlap between your walls and trim colors. Once cutting-in is complete, and while the edges are still damp, another painter rolls the walls, getting as close to the trim edges as possible to ensure no flashing when the paint dries, and to ensure proper coverage. When we are finished, we wipe off any splatters that may have fallen on baseboards, re-cut those same baseboards if needed, touch up any light spots that might be showing through, and pull up any tape, tarps or plastic that’s been used. Finally, we do a detailed inspection with you to be sure you’re happy with our work and the results.
When we’re all through painting, we wipe clean and replace all electrical outlet & switch plate covers. We pick up and remove our tarps and plastic, remove any debris, wipe down and dust all counters and trim, and then sweep or vacuum the floors. And we move the furniture back to its original position.
We ensure you have enough paint left over for future touch-ups, and label each paint can for your convenience.
